HOUNSLOW YOUTH CENTRE
Description
Hounslow Youth Centre serves young people and people with disabilities and special needs on behalf of the borough of Hounslow.
Spaceist has worked on a furniture project for the centre supplying a package of seating and tables to modernise and improve the usability of the refurbished space. Staff, volunteers and the young people collaborated to come up with a brief. The centre required an increase in seating capacity; there was a desire to create separated zones in the space as well as a media area.
The package needed to be versatile and flexible so we recommended a loose layout of modular seating that can be moved easily and set out according to the different requirements of groups in the centre. Above all the desire was to achieve a highly modern, cool and attractive space with a comfortable lounge bar feel to appeal to young people in the area.
