Outdoor or indoor plastic cafe chair

This economical and commercial cafe chair is suitable for most outdoor and indoor interiors. The chairs are stackable eight chairs high with the option of a stacking trolley to make moving the chairs easy.

FAQs

What does certified by GreenGuard mean?

The UL GREENGUARD Gold Certification Standard includes health-based criteria for additional chemicals and also requires lower total VOC emissions levels to ensure that products are acceptable for use in environments such as schools and healthcare facilities.

In addition to limiting emissions of more than 360 VOCs and total chemical emissions, all certified products are subject to a review of the manufacturing process and routine testing to minimise the impact on the indoor environment.

Is there a fire-resistant Ara chair?

Yes, there is a fire-resistant option. Some areas like shopping centres and enclosed public areas will only allow fire-retardant cafe furniture. Check with your landlord on the fire regulations before you buy.

Can the plastic chairs be used in a sailing club close to the sea?

Yes, plastic is probably the most resistant to sea air and salt. We recommend the chairs are stored inside in the winter months to extend the life of the chairs. Also, wash the chairs down with clean water regularly to remove any salt and dirt, especially before stacking.

Are the stacking chairs lightweight?

Yes, the Ara plastic chair weighs only 4.8 kg and can be stacked 8 chairs high. A stacking trolley is available which is easy to move by one person when the chairs need to be stored indoors.

How durable and strong are the chairs?

The polypropylene plastic is reinforced with fibreglass so is very strong and lightweight. The chairs are tested to 1. Seat and back static load test EN 1728:2000 / 2. Seat and back fatigue test EN 1728:2000 / 3. Arm fatigue test EN 1728:2000.

Do the chair colours fade in the sunlight?

The Ara has a UV-resistant additive to the plastic which makes them less likely to fade in the sun. Choose lighter colours like white, grey and sand which will fade at the slowest rate. Lighter chair colours are also easier to clean and maintain.
