The beautiful John Madejski Garden at the Victoria and Albert Museum will become the focal point for a Zaha Hadid installation during this years London Design Festival.
The piece, titled ‘Crest’ has been commissioned to the prestigious architecture firm by ME by Meliá hotel in Dubai. The installation will be featured in the garden to highlight the opening of the hotel and will later be installed to form a permanent feature. The ‘Crest’, created from pre-stressed aluminium will mostly be created on site.
The John Madejski Garden is a focal outdoor space at the V&A where visitors can enjoy the courtyard style abyss. The installation will be built to complement the existing stone paved oval in the centre of the garden. The piece, as seen in the rendering, will create n illusion as if the stoned oval is coming to life, bringing a playful element of discovery into the space.
The instllation will be on display from the 13th – 21st September 2014.
