Description

Spaceist were approached to supply cafe chairs and tables for the new cafe at the Horniman Museum. Originally opened in 1898, the Horniman Museum, based in Forest Hill in South London is a local community gem. Frederick John Horniman, Victorian tea trader and philanthropist, felt he wanted to give something back to the local community and show them arts crafts and specimens of various trades from around the world. Open to visitors all year round, the museum features a range of galleries, stunning gardens including a nature trail and a cafe and restaurant.

With its high volume visitor numbers and beautiful view over the gardens, the new furnishings needed to be modern, stylish and suitable to meet indoor and outdoor needs. We supplied the modest Book chair that is made from a 100% recycled injected polypropylene shell with a powder coated frame and base. The chair is ideal for both indoor and outdoor use and is suitable for its durable qualities, plus it is stackable unto 15 chairs high. Contemporary and sustainable, the Book chair has been suitably matched with the Bold table. With a simple X style base, the white laminate top Bold table was supplied in the square option. Also ideal for outdoor use, the Bold table comes in up to five sizes in both round or square option.
