Here at Spaceist we seek to ensure our products represent the current and ongoing trends in contract interior design. We work closely with our clients to ensure each furniture package fits with their desired style. Here we use a selection of our products to take inspiration from five different types of libraries; from public, hybrid cafe/library, school libraries and a corporate library.
Inspiration: La Ciudadela Library, Mexico City
Housed an 18th century building, this library underwent innovative restoration to enhance the buildings original features. To enhance the spaces, a selection of practical and colourful range of furniture brings it up to date.
Reading and study chairs: Anno cafe chair. Comfortable, stylish and available in a matching blue grey to the chairs used at the Mexican library, recreate the modest study area look with the Anno cafe chair. The sturdy chrome legs and solid plywood seat makes this a robust option for high volume areas, such as a public library.
Children’s library: Panton cafe chair. A classic and iconic chair design, the Panton is constructed from a special polypropylene mould shape giving it a distinctive wave. Comfortable and sturdy, the chair comes in a range of colourful options to create a vibrant and lively appeal.
Inspiration: Julian Street Library, Princeton University
The Julian Street Library was previously a 3100 square foot reading room that has been converted into a modern high-tech learning and reading space. The library takes on a very Scandinavian-style interior, with a large use of light wood and bright blue and teal furnishings and colour accents on the walls.
Modular sofa seating: Modular sofa. A high backed modular seating range that comes in over 100 colours and two fabric options and a choice of sizes. This seating range provides with variation of seating styles and can be arranged back to back, in booth or to rest against walls.
Reading chairs: 86 reception chair. This designer chair is upholstered in high quality contract grade foam and features a high back version to maximise comfort. The 86 chair is ideal as it also comes in over 100 colour options so can be supplied to match the modular seating ranges.
Study chairs: Ovy meeting chair. Pratical and comfortable, the Ovy office chair comes with a fabric upholstered seat and back. A supportive back supports the back rest and seat composed of a durable powder coated finish. The seat and back are available in a wide selection of colourful upholstery to match any interior scheme.
Inspiration: SCIENCE café & library, Moldova
A space with a lot of emphasis on shapes and forms, this self-study and learning environment has is a high-technology library in Moldova features stunning grey upholstered seating. With a self-service style cafe and hexegon shaped personal lockers for each visitor, the space presents high design interior space for an ultra-modern themed library without compromising on comfort.
Study chairs: Danny Meeting chair. Although featuring metal base legs, the distinctive seating stye of the Danny chair adds comfort and style. Available in over 100 colours, match it to create a simple yet up-to-date look.
Reading chairs: Stealth reception chair. Highly distinctive angular chair, the Stealth reception chair presents a high back and steel star base. Providing ideal style for a contemporary look akin to the Science cafe chairs, these chairs can be supplied in over 100 different colours, making it ideal to match with a modern palette.
Inspiration: Mediolanum Corporate University, Milan
A corporate training campus encompassing over 4000 sqm in the centre of Milan, the Mediolanum Corporate University has been designed to express a new way of learning and transferring the values of the Group. The main library space is a calm and relaxing atmosphere enhanced with the use of wooden floors, shelving and furnishings.
Study chairs: Inga plywood chairs. Classic and practical, these wooden chairs provide comfort and style. The veneered plywood chair is made from solid wood and comes with sturdy powder coated leg base.
Modular seating & stools: Modular cubes. Soft seating that comes in an array of shapes and sizes to fit into any space, including corners and also as stand alone stools. The modular seats are great for creating a versatile seating arrangement, in vibrant colours as they can be upholstered in a selection of finishes. The vinyl upholstery finishing is both easy to maintain and highly durable for high impact use.
Reading chairs: 46 Office sofa system. A slightly modern version of the armchairs used for this project, the 46 office sofa chair comes with an armchair. This option comes as a high impact version ideal for busy environments, it is composed of a hard wood frame, high quality foam and upholstered in a selection of colours.
Inspiration: Dalarna Media Library, Falun
Previously a car park for the Dalarna University campus, the Dalarna Media Library is formed around a main auditorium that sits in the centre of the large space. A majority of the bookshelves have been transformed into the walls of the atrium space, with seating for reading and studying scattered around.
Study chairs: Lisboa cafe chair. Colourful and functional, the use of study chairs executed at the Dalarna Media Library are similar to the Lisbon chair. Constructed from a polypropylene base and coated with fibreglass, extra durability makes the Lisbon great for high impact spaces. Choose from six contemporary colours to add vibrancy into your library space.
Reading chairs: Catifa 80 reception chair. With a noticeably wider seat length, the Catifa 80 chair comes with a sled base and both fabric or leather upholstery. For added customisation, both upholstery materials comes in a variety of colours. Comfortable for reading and highly stylish, this chair is ideal for relaxing reading spaces, as used at the Dalarna Media Library.
