Based within the airport campus at Manchester Airport, IdeaLab is a working space taking staff away from their desks to work on new projects and challenges. Created for team meetings, brainstorming and workshop sessions, Spaceist were invited to supply a furniture package to match the vibrant interior concept.
The Manchester Airport Group selected a bright and colourful room concept created by Megan Davies to enhance the nature and function of the IdeaLab. To match the colourful wall and floor elements, Spaceist provided a quality range of furniture items that would enhance the selected palette whilst providing high functionality.
Divided into two areas, the room feature a formal and informal working space. One side of the room features a striking citrus colour theme and the other half fresh blue and purple tones. The citrus side of the room features a large ‘white board’ wall and creative space for brainstorming and collaborations. To enhance the informal and playful nature of this half of the room, Spaceist provided a modular seating option.
Supplied in a curvy shape, modular cubes are ideal for this project for being easy to maintain and flexible to move around. Upholstered in the vinyl material, these robust cubes are a practical and economical solution for a wide range of spaces. The cubes were supplied in different colours customised to match the wall and floor colours.
The other half of the room, composed of blues and purples with squares and grids and is a more formal meeting space and has been designed for planning implementation and delivery tasks. To address the formal nature, we supplied the X meeting table in a brilliant white and a selection of multi-coloured Ondo chairs in the same shade as the wall and floor colours.
A sturdy and contemporary option, the X meeting table features D-shaped rounded ends with a high impact ABS edge. The steel powder coated base legs are available in a range of colours. To complement the striking white laminate, we supplied the Ondo chairs.
The Ondo chairs are a versatile seating option with a solid plywood chair available in a wide selection of colours, making it possible to match the colour tones used on the wall and floor squares and grids. The lacquered seat rests on robust wide steel tube base.
The finished look brings the interior concept together and presents the staff of Manchester Airport Group a vibrant, flexible and functioning space for collaboration and new ideas.
