Boasting 359 luxurious rooms, a 200-seat restaurant, 56-seat screening room and over 5,000 sq.ft of event venues, the opening of the first Mondrian Hotel outside America is something special for the capital. The design, headed by Tom Dixon reflects the charm and grandness of the Sea Containers building the hotel occupies, whilst introducing a hip and modern new social hub to the vibrant South Bank.
Dixon has used his signature style and adopted some sea-inspired features throughout the hotel. As you enter the lobby, you are instantly greeted by a remarkable, handcrafted copper hull that dramatically sweeps up from the entrance through the lobby and into the riverfront restaurant. With a soon to open roof-top bar, serving amazing views along with refreshing cocktails, the Mondarian will soon enough become a central social hub for this creative and socially energised part of the city.
